Alone

ATTENTION: Apparently my computer screen is ridiculously bright compared to others out there.... so some of you may not be able to see it

I am in with this deviation. I truly think it is one of my best. And considering I've only attempted one other photomanipulation (which was meh) since I did An Unlikely Pair more than a month ago that's really awesome to me ^.^

Lately I've been concentrating on drawing so much that I lost inspiration for photomanipulation. I was taught cellshading and once I became decent on that I gave a whirl to digital painting. I haven't posted any of these attempts yet because I don't think they're ready but maybe I will someday.
So my drawing muse has been dominating my time. My poor little photomanip / photography muse has been shoved away into some dark corner of my mind. And honestly if it wasn't for a few people it may have stayed there.
The first person I want to say a huge thank you to is . I recently viewed one of her photomanipulation pieces One Day More and absolutely loved the look she gave to the mane and tail, so tangled and wild. After talking a bit to her about it, I decided to give it a go. It really doesn't look anything like hers but nor is it straight perfect and flowy and I can live with that. But as I was saying, thank you Talisturo, you really inspired me to release my photo muse from her "prison" and let loose.
The second person I'd like to thank may not even realize how much this manipulation depended on her. I'd like to say thank you to for supplying the horse that stars in this picture. I already had the pose I wanted for the horse in mind and was prepared for an hour + search for the right picture. However as I went to stock images and clicked on newest I saw her wonderful photograph on the first page and knew I wasn't going to use any other horse than this.

I really wanted to try making a darker manipulation than I usually do and I am very pleased with the result. The truth is I feel far from alone, the character in it (he kinda popped into my head as I was working on it) is the one who feels alone and forgotten. As if those he once called friends have long since moved on, they have no need of him. There's not a specific story, rather a whirlwind of emotions that I felt from that character and this is the result.
