Spook's training picture for RHS/SSS Summer Show.

Early morning in New Mexico could be just about any temperature even during the summer. The last few days had been terrible, a very small monsoon season by comparison to previous years, but hot, muggy, and wet all the same. The staff of MLS had done their best to keep all training on course despite the weather. Wesley had, of course, had a harder time of it then most of the other staff. His horses included a large portion of the Bashki, Baron and Doc. All of which seemed twice as irritable and nasty when the weather turned south. The most recent addition to Wesley's training list was little Spook.
Contrary to his nickname Spook only had a few things that actually frightened him. Unfortunately one of those was thunder, of which there was plenty during this time in NM. Wesley could only hope that there wouldn't be any rain or storms today. When he stepped outside of the main house his spirits went up a bit. There were a few clouds in the sky today, but nothing like it had been the past few days. Wesley arrived at the foal's pasture feeling cheerful until he caught sight of Spook racing around pasture at full speed, catching him was going to be interesting. Finally,with the aid of patience and a carrot or two, Wesley was able to snag Spook, and slip the halter over his head. It then took 10 minutes to lead the spirited foal to the training arena.
Once through the gate things sadly didn't improve. With how much grief Spook gave Wesley, Daisun commented that it would be no trouble for him to train the foal instead. However, much to most of the staff's surprise, Wesley flatout refused. He didn't give an explanation, but Carol could see what a strong bond he already had with the foal. Even though he had originally protested the cost of Spook's breeding, he clearly intended to see Spook's training through far into the future. Wesley shook his head as Spook once again managed to get him tangled in the lead rope. Sighing with frustration Wesley untangled himself and attempted to get the foal to walk alongside him calmly but to no avail. Just as he was about to give up though the little foal head bumped him and looked up with those adorable eyes.
“Alright little fellow, one more try eh?” Wesley said, a smile breaking out on his face.
